COMMUNITY & GIVING BACK

Nature & Nuture

Plant Run started early in 2021.

We really built this business by people learning about us in one way -- and that was through the intention of giving. Building *community* in the midst of a pandemic was essential to Plant Run's mission.

We started the Davis Square propagation station program May - October of 2021. We offered hundreds of free houseplant cuttings throughout the season. With this in mind we aimed to create community, instill a generous spirit, and community healing after a challenging time in our world. We cannot wait for Spring 2022 when we will reinstall the station and hope to spread the propagation station further!

Somerville Public Library Plant Project

What's better than cozying up in a sunny corner with a good book? Doing so next to a plant.

In September 2021 Plant Run worked alongside SPL to plant style the newly renovated historic West Branch building. It has been such a treat to visit the plants each week and see them basking in the abundant sun in the window-filled facility. Plant Run operates this as a volunteer-based opportunity to give back to the community and achieve a mission of sharing houseplants with all ages, education levels, socioeconomic and housing status. Plant Run visits the West Branch SPL weekly to care for these plants some of which include a bushy Fiddle Leaf Fig, snake plants (sansevieria), Dracaena, Aglaonema, String of Hearts, Anthurium, Calathea, Pothos, Philodendron & more.
